Education
-
Ph.D., Electrical Engineering, Dec. 2000, North Carolina State University (NCSU).
Dissertation: ``Global
Modeling of Nonlinear Microwave Circuits,'' under the direction of
Michael B. Steer.
-
M.Sc., Electrical Engineering, May 1998, North Carolina State University.
Thesis Title: ``State variable
harmonic balance simulation of a quasi-optical power combining
system,'' under the direction of Michael B. Steer.
-
Electronic Engineer, March 1993, National University of Rosario (UNR),
Rosario, Argentina.
-
Electrical Technician (power systems), Dec. 1987, General San Martin Polytechnic
Institute, Rosario, Argentina.
Experience
-
Since January 2002 Professor at
the Department
of Electrical Engineering
at Lakehead University,
Thunder Bay, Canada (2002-2007 Assistant Professor, 2007-2019
Associate Professor)
-
January 2001 - December 2001 Postdoctoral
Research Associate at the Department
of Electrical and Computer Engineering at NCSU. Responsible for
coordinating the research of a group of graduate students developing
CAE tools to model, analyse and design nonlinear analogue, microwave and
radio frequency circuits.
-
August 1996 - December 2000 Research Assistant at the Department of Electrical and Computer
Engineering at NCSU, developing CAE tools for the analysis and
design of nonlinear analogue microwave and radio frequency
circuits.
-
Development of a complete object oriented circuit simulator, starting
from an existing program. This includes the main architecture, five
analysis types (AC, DC, harmonic balance, convolution transient and
the new wavelet transient), and the implementation of most of the
circuit element models. The program integrates distributed
electromagnetic and thermal effects. See the Transim Home Page for
more.
-
1991-1996 Member of the Research Staff, Laboratory of
Microelectronics of the National University of Rosario,
Argentina. Responsible for designing analogue integrated circuits and
CAE tools for IC design.
-
Developed a program to extract SPICE netlists from hierarchical
circuit layout files.
-
Developed a user-friendly tool to estimate the SPICE parameters of
BJTs and JFETs from the manufacturer's data sheet.
-
1993-1995 Teaching Assistant/Lecturer (Auxiliar de Primera
Dedicacion simple), Digital Techniques class, Electronics Department,
National University of Rosario, Rosario, Argentina.
